World Metrology Day is being celebrated today in Sylhet like the rest of the country with the theme of 'Today's measurement to build a sustainable future'. President Mohammad Sahabuddin, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina gave separate messages on the occasion of the day. The World Day is observed every year to create awareness about weights and measures. Bangladesh Standards and Testing Institution has taken various programs on this occasion. The program includes-discussions and promotional activities. Private radio and TV channels including Bangladesh Betar and Bangladesh Television broadcast special programs.
