Like the rest of the country, HSC and equivalent examinations have started in Sylhet from today. This time, the number of HSC examinees in Sylhet Board is 69,683. Among the examinees this time, 27,868 are male and 41,815 are female. Students from 322 institutions are taking the examination in 88 centers. In order to conduct the HSC and equivalent examinations in a fair, beautiful and cheating-free environment, the Ministry of Education has ordered the closure of all coaching centers in the country until August 15. Sylhet Metropolitan Police has issued a public notice prohibiting public gatherings, processions, singing, use of loudspeakers, carrying/using any kind of indigenous weapons, and any act that threatens peace, order and public safety within 200 yards of the examination center. The notice stated that public gatherings, processions, singing, use of loudspeakers, carrying/using any kind of indigenous weapons, and any act that threatens peace, order and public safety have been prohibited during the examination at various examination centers under Sylhet Metropolitan Police. The notification further stated that each examination center has been declared a temporary reserved area during the examination. This order will be in force every day during the examination from June 26 to August 10.
