Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College has banned all party politics. The matter was informed in a notification signed by Principal Dr. Shishir Ranjan Chakraborty. It is mentioned in the notification, "All kinds of activities of political parties, political-non-political lobbying and political activities of students in the college campus and halls of Sylhet Osmani Medical College have been declared prohibited. The 1994 notification banning student politics was canceled and a new notification was issued in 2024. Confirming this information, Dr. Shishir Ranjan Chakraborty, principal of Osmani Medical College told the media that this decision was taken in the syndicate meeting in view of the application of ordinary students.
