State Minister of Disaster and Relief Ministry Mohammad Mohibbur Rahman MP visited various flood affected areas of Sylhet city. He distributed relief at Mirabazar Kishori Mohan Balak Vidyalaya Asylum Center yesterday afternoon. Meanwhile, the state minister announced to provide relief aid of Tk 10 lakh, 100 metric tons of rice and 2000 packets of dry food on an emergency basis. He said that Bangladesh is a disaster prone area. Sylhet region is one of them. Hon'ble Prime Minister is closely monitoring the flood situation in Sylhet and he is constantly keeping track of it. Meanwhile, Mayor Anwaruzzaman Chowdhury said that the cooperation of the government has continued since the flood situation appeared. Dry food as well as cooked food is being distributed to the shelters, which will continue until the water recedes. Former Expatriate Welfare and Foreign Employment Minister Imran Ahmed MP, Disaster Management and Relief Secretary Kamrul Islam, Sylhet Divisional Commissioner Abu Ahmad Siddiqui, Sylhet Deputy Commissioner Sheikh Russell Hasan, Sylhet City Corporation Chief Executive Officer Mohammad Iftekhar Ahmed Chowdhury and various wards were present during the relief distribution.
